Tragedy Strikes Upper Dir: Landslide Claims 12 Lives from a Single Family

Last night, in the small village of Patrak, Upper Dir district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a landslide caused by heavy rain led to the collapse of a house belonging to a man named Wali Muhammad. The tragic incident claimed the lives of 12 members of the same family, who were buried under the debris.

The rescue operation was hampered by darkness and continued heavy rainfall, making it difficult for residents and rescue teams. However, with the help of dozens of local people and rescue workers, the debris was cleared, and all the bodies were recovered by morning. Among the deceased were three women, two men, and seven children.

The victims included the wife of Naushad, his daughters Sumayya and Yemen Bibi, his sons Tayyab and Umair Ahmed; the wife of Khan Badshah, his daughters Taqweeb Bibi and his sons Saad and Zohan; the wife of Wali Rehman, his daughter Dua; and Nasir, the son of Wali Muhammad.
