WANA, August 4: Tribal elders of Shakai tehsil in South Waziristan tribal region have decided to raise a lashkar (militia of volunteers) to maintain peace in the area.
A Jirga was held in Shakai tehsil on 3 August, attended by tribal elders, religious scholars, political leaders and local residents.
A tribal elder, Mr Sabirullah, told the Jirga that the members of the lashkar would keep on patrolling the area and would observe the activities of suspected militants.
