In Peshawar’s Faqirabad area, a man allegedly opened fire inside a house over a dispute related to a love marriage, killing his niece. The accused is also alleged to have previously killed the woman’s brother-in-law, while her husband had earlier been killed in a reported police encounter.

According to the report filed with Faqirabad Police, Ms. Shano Bibi, resident of Mateen Korona, stated that her 21-year-old daughter was married three years ago to Aadil, who later passed away.

She said that on the previous day, she was at her home in Al Khan Chowk with other family members when her brother-in-law Farhad forcibly entered the house and opened fire on her daughter with a pistol. The victim sustained a bullet wound to the head and died on the spot.

Police said the deceased, a widow, reportedly wished to marry her brother-in-law. Due to this dispute, the accused had earlier allegedly killed her brother-in-law in a shooting incident, and later killed the niece inside the house over the same issue.

Police further stated that the victim’s first husband, Aadil, had been accused of involvement in robbery and other crimes and was killed in a reported police encounter.

According to police, the main suspect in the case is the victim’s uncle, who has been nominated in the murder case. He fled the scene after the incident, and raids are being conducted for his arrest.

In a separate incident in Dera Ismail Khan, within the jurisdiction of Cantonment Police Station in the Muriali area of Mohalla Anwar Faqir, a family dispute over marriage ties led to another killing, where a man allegedly shot dead his 19-year-old sister inside their home.

Police said the deceased has been identified as (K L Bibi), daughter of Inayatullah, while the accused has been identified as Zeeshan. The young woman died on the spot due to gunfire.

Police have shifted the body to the Trauma Center of the Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities and are collecting evidence from the scene. Efforts to arrest the suspect are underway.
