BUNER, September 22: Two more polio cases have been confirmed by the National Institute of Health from Buner district.
According to the National Institute of Health, two-year-old Ms Amia and her cousin two-and-half-year old Ms Sahira belong to Tutalai tehsil of the district.
The Institute says that both the victims had also been administered polio vaccines.
This year a total of 168 polio cases have been reported in the country, mostly from FATA region.
The World Health Organisation has convened an emergency meeting in Geneva this month and health experts say the global body may impose more travel restrictions on Pakistani nationals. Pakistanis have already been banned from travelling overseas without polio vaccination certificates.
