CHARSADDA, November 19: Two policemen have died in a hand grenade attack on a police van in Charsadda district last night.
The police say unidentified assailants targeted the police mobile with a hand grenade that damaged the vehicles and killed two personnel Mr Shaheen and Mr Ibrahim near Bacha Khan Chowk in Shabqadar tehsil.
Three including SHO injured in Tank
In a similar attack, unknown motorcyclists opened fire on a police mobile patrolling in an area in Tank district.
As a result, three personnel including a station house officer (SHO) sustained injuries and were rushed to the District Headquarter Hospital.
An SHO, usually an inspector in rank, heads a police station in Pakistan. Due to shortage of inspectors, there are police stations headed by sub-inspectors as well.
