
PESHAWAR, July 16: Another two polio cases have been reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA region and one from Sindh province, raising the total number of cases to 94 in Pakistan this year
According to the Prime Minister Polio Control Cell, 14-year-old Hajra from Khyber Agency and six-month-old Habiba from Sheikh Muhammadi area in Peshawar district are the latest victims who haven’t been vaccinated so far.
The third case was reported from Sanghar area of Sindh province, where the victim was identified as one-month-old Rehmatullah.
FATA region has recorded 70 polio cases, most of them hailing from South Waziristan as the Taliban had banned vaccination there for several years.
Sixteen cases have been reported form Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Last year 93 polio cases had been confirmed in Pakistan.
