NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Two security men were injured in improvised explosive device attack in Data Khel Tehsil of district North Waziristan on Tuesday.

The attack occurred in Manzar Khel area during a search operation when soldiers came across an IED. As a result, two security men were injured. The injured personnel were identified as Sepoy Qaiser and Naik Zahoor of Shawal rifles.

They were rushed to the hospital where their conditions are stated to be out of danger. After the blast, the security forces have cordoned off the area and started search for the arrest of persons responsible for the attack.

The administration has already imposed section 144 in North Waziristan district administration in wake of the existing law and order situation in the tribal district. The deputy commissioner has issued notification on Monday saying that there are threats of sabotage activities in the district.

Therefore, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been imposed for the maintenance of public order for one month. Under the order, there will be a complete ban on sit-ins, protests, public gathering of five or more people for a period of thirty days in the best interests of the public.

Police recover 29 stolen motorcycles in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Peshawar Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted criminal gang involved in street crimes such as stealing and snatching motorbikes. Police have said that they have arrested two members of a gang and recovered 29 stolen motorbikes from their possession.

According to SSP city Zaheer Uddin Babar, police have achieved success in arresting street criminals by adopting new strategy and techniques. He said both arrested criminals have confessed involvement in crimes. A special police team is making efforts to arrest rest of members of the gang who are still at large he said adding police registered FIRs and further investigation is under progress.
