BARA, November 26: Two soldiers have been killed and another injured when militants ambushed their convoy in Shahkas area of Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency, last night.
According to the political administration, a convoy of the security forces was on its routine patrol when unidentified militants opened fire, killing two soldiers, Barkat and Hamid Hassan. Another soldier sustained injuries.
A search operation was launched in the area after the attack.
The Pakistan Army has launched a military operation named “Khyber-1” in Khyber Agency, which had been home to the banned Lashkar-e-Islam, other tribal militias and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan militants.
