PESHAWAR, May 2: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government has sacked its Minister for Industries Shaukat Yousafzai and Adviser to Chief Minister for Transport Yasin Khalil over reports of unsatisfactory performance.
A meeting of the party’s core committee, chaired by PTI Chairman Imran Khan, evaluated the performance of all the ministers and advisors, says a statement issued by the provincial Information Department.
Besides sacking the minister and the adviser, notices have been issued to two other ministers and an advisor, giving them six months to improve their performance.
Shaukat Yousafzai was earlier removed as health minister and was given the industries’ ministry as there were reports that his performance was not satisfactory in the former portfolio.
Last month, 11 PTI members of the provincial assembly formed forward bloc against the provincial government and they later levelled allegations of corruption against some ministers and advisors during a meeting with Imran Khan.
