WhatsApp Group Dispute Turns Deadly in Peshawar, Youth Killed Over Pet Dog Feud in Swat

In a shocking incident in Peshawar’s suburban area of Safed Sang, Regi, a man was shot dead after removing another member from a WhatsApp group.

According to a viral social media post, the victim’s brother, Humayun, stated in his police report that his brother, Mushtaq, had removed Ashfaq, the murderer, from a WhatsApp group over an unknown issue. Enraged by this, Ashfaq allegedly opened fire, killing Mushtaq on the spot. Humayun escaped unharmed.

A case has been registered against Ashfaq on Humayun’s complaint, though there is no confirmation of an arrest yet. In another violent episode in Swat’s Takhtaband area, a young man named Abbas was stabbed to death following a dispute over a pet dog.

Police have arrested the suspect along with the murder weapon and initiated legal proceedings.
