PESHAWAR, July 22: The Al-Khidmat Foundation, in collaboration with the Muslim Aid Australia, has distributed wheelchairs among 200 disabled people.
Al-Khidmat Foundation is a social welfare wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami, which is a coalition partner in the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A ceremony was held at the Peshawar Press Club where the provincial Senior Minister Sirajul Haq distributed wheelchairs among the physically challenged people.
The recipients thanked the organisation and said their life would become easy with this assistance. “In the past, we were unable to move but now we got wheelchairs and now we can go to our hujras (guest houses for men), mosques and would also be able to go to other places. May Allah bless the organisers of this event because they took care of us. Now we can also go to the market,” said one of the disabled people.
