A woman and a man were brutally murdered in Shagai, Bannu, within the jurisdiction of Mirakhel Police Station, in what is suspected to be an honor killing. According to sources, Sobia Bibi had been engaged to Abdullah for about a year.
Abdullah killed his fiancée, Sobia Bibi, and a man named Masoor Ali Shah, whom he allegedly suspected of having a relationship with him.
A double murder case has been registered against Abdullah and his accomplices on the complaint of the SHO of Mirakhel. A search operation to apprehend the suspects has been launched.

On August 11, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police released statistics revealing that 8,299 cases of violence against women were reported in the province over the last five years, resulting in convictions for only 168 individuals.
Similarly, Human Rights Watch has highlighted the alarming rise in violence against women and girls in Pakistan. The report estimates that nearly 1,000 women are murdered each year in the country.
