HANGU, April 30: A woman was killed when gunmen fired shots at a camp set up for displaced families in Hangu district yesterday, the police said.
The armed men opened fire on the Muhammad Khwaja Camp, set up for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Orakzai Agency, leaving a woman dead.
The government has set up a number of camps for the IDPs in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and FATA region. Many families have left their native areas because of military operations or clashes between militants and military in Pakistan’s tribal region and they are currently living at these camps.
