KOHAT, June 6: Women of Khazanchi area of Kohat bazaar staged protest against out-of-order electricity transformer.
The protesting women told TNN that they were unable to sleep due to hot weather while the transformer has been inoperative for the last four days.
Also, the power loadshedding has led to water shortage in the main Kohat bazaar.
“Our children are suffering due to hot weather. I pay electricity bill of 6000 to 7000 rupees a month but even then there is no electricity. What should we do? I request the authorities to install one more transformer to solve our problem as the holy month of Ramzan is around the corner,” said one of the protesters.
The women ended their protest demonstration after the Kohat urban electricity office superintendent, Wajid Ali Shah, assured to repair the transformer.
