Women took to the streets for the first time to protest the alleged rape and murder of nine-year-old Eshmal, a resident of Madian in Upper Swat.

The protesters blocked the Mingora-Madian-Kalam Road to traffic and demanded justice for the victim’s family.

 They also called for those involved in the incident to be punished according to the law.

Two days ago, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped and shot dead in Kuz Kalay area of Madian, Upper Swat.

According to police, the alleged suspect, Sultan Muhammad, has been arrested along with the weapon used in the crime. Further investigation is underway.
