Upper Kohistan Mega Corruption Probe Widens as 19 Officials Suspended

Investigations into the Rs40 billion mega corruption scandal in Upper Kohistan have gained momentum, leading to a broader crackdown on officials allegedly involved in the case. 

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has suspended 10 of its officers believed to be linked to the scandal.

According to the department, the suspended officials include one Grade-18 officer, three Grade-17 officers, five Grade-16 officers, and one employee in Scale-11.

Sources indicate that other departments are also actively involved in the investigation. 

The Communication and Works (C&W) Department has suspended 7 employees, while the Accountant General’s Office has suspended 2 staff members.

In total, 19 government employees have been suspended so far as the inquiry continues. 

Sources further reveal that new developments are emerging during the investigation, with the possibility of action against additional officials in the coming days.
