Security forces killed 10 militants, while six Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred during various operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), several clashes took place between security forces and militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from September 15 to 17.

In North Waziristan, an intelligence-based operation was conducted following reports of militant presence. Security forces effectively targeted a militant hideout, and six militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, allegedly operating with Indian backing, were killed in an intense exchange of fire.

Security forces also conducted an operation in Hangu district, where four more militants were killed.

According to the statement, on September 17, a security forces’ convoy was targeted with an improvised explosive device, resulting in the martyrdom of six Pakistan Army soldiers.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the militants killed during the operations. The militants were reportedly involved in several terrorist activities in the area.

ISPR said a clearance operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. It added that the sacrifices of the soldiers further strengthen the resolve to protect the country’s security and safety.
