Seven militants were killed during security forces’ operations in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while another four terrorists were killed in Khuzdar district of Balochistan.

According to security sources, intelligence-based operations were conducted in Bannu and South Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following intelligence reports. Two terrorists were killed during the operation in Bannu, while weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession. A militant hideout was also destroyed using explosives.

Sources said five militant terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Ladha area of South Waziristan. Security forces detected the movement of the militants in time and launched the operation.

In Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, four terrorists were killed during an operation against Fitna al-Hindustan in the Sasol area. Security forces targeted the militants with the assistance of drones.

According to security sources, the operations were conducted while ensuring the protection of the local population and their lives and property. The authorities reiterated their resolve to continue operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative until the complete elimination of terrorism.

Five days earlier, 49 terrorists had been killed in separate operations by security forces and police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were aimed at effectively targeting terrorist networks and thwarting attempts to undermine peace and stability in the country. Large quantities of explosives, IED detonating remotes, weapons, ammunition and motorcycles were recovered from militant hideouts during the operations.

ISPR said clearance operations were also continuing in the affected areas following the operations to trace and target other militants.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the security forces for their successful operations against terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He said the security forces had foiled terrorist attempts through timely operations.

Naqvi said the security forces were the country’s valuable asset and that the nation stood with them in the fight against terrorism.
