Following the recent terrorist attacks and a suicide bombing in Bannu, security forces killed 24 militants during a series of operations.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), over the past 24 hours, security forces conducted multiple engagements in Bannu and its surrounding areas, killing 24 militants belonging to what the military refers to as the India-backed proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

The ISPR stated that the slain militants were involved in several terrorist attacks and the killing of innocent civilians. The military's media wing added that intelligence-based operations against terrorists and their facilitators are ongoing, and efforts to eliminate terrorism will continue with full force.

Meanwhile, in view of the security situation in Bannu, targeted operations are underway in different parts of the district. Security forces have cordoned off several locations, while all major entry and exit routes to the district have been temporarily closed.

The district administration has also suspended mobile phone and internet services until further notice. Tight security measures have been put in place, and a curfew has been imposed in Baka Khel, Jani Khel, Tehsil Miryan, FR Bannu, Sara Dargah, and Sub-Division Wazir due to the ongoing operations. Entry and exit routes to these areas have also been sealed.
