Peshawar: Renowned thyroid cancer specialist and former Lady Reading Hospital professor Dr Bakht Zada has reported treating around 4,000 thyroid cancer patients and performing 23 thyroid cancer surgeries in a single day.

Speaking to TNN News, Dr Bakht Zada said the milestone was the result of years of dedicated medical service and his commitment to providing specialized treatment to thyroid cancer patients.

He also announced plans to establish a dedicated healthcare center in Islamabad for poor and deserving patients. The facility, being established under the Zada Foundation, will provide eligible patients with thyroid cancer treatment and surgeries free of cost.

Dr Bakht Zada said the initiative aims to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent deserving patients from accessing timely and specialized cancer care.

He further said affordable diagnostic services are also being provided at his facility. According to him, a CT scan costs around Rs1,500, compared with approximately Rs5,000 in the market.

The Islamabad healthcare center is expected to be formally inaugurated soon and will focus on providing specialized medical services to financially disadvantaged patients.
