An Afghan national was arrested in Islamabad for impersonating a United States Embassy staff member by using a forged embassy identification card, police officials confirmed.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Haris, had been falsely presenting himself as a US Embassy employee and was involved in multiple fraud cases. Authorities said the US Embassy had also raised concerns and lodged a complaint regarding the suspect’s activities.
Law enforcement agencies had already placed the Afghan national under surveillance. He was detained while attempting to enter the Diplomatic Enclave in a vehicle accompanied by two women.
