The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Establishment has expanded its investigation into alleged financial irregularities, corruption, and misuse of authority in the Orakzai District Health Department by seeking detailed financial and administrative records from 2022 to the present.

According to an official letter sent by the Anti-Corruption Establishment to the Director General Health Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an inquiry is underway against the District Health Officer (DHO) Orakzai, relevant staff members, and other individuals.

The letter states that the investigation covers allegations of corruption, accumulation of assets through illegal means, embezzlement of public funds, procurement of substandard supplies, fraudulent medical claims, and abuse of official authority.

To advance the inquiry, the Anti-Corruption Establishment has requested details of budget allocations and expenditures from 2022 onward for medicines, medical equipment, furniture, stationery, printing, petroleum products, TA/DA, transportation, and other expenditure heads.

It has also sought supply orders, bills, cheques issued to suppliers, cash books, stock registers, delivery challans, medicine distribution records, details of physical verification committees, demands from various health facilities, and information regarding Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and storekeepers.

Additionally, the agency has requested the complete record of all recruitments made since 2022, including advertisements, shortlisting and selection committee minutes, appointment orders, details of the competent appointing authorities, lists of dismissed, adjusted, and reinstated employees, as well as audit reports.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment has directed the DG Health Services to instruct the focal person for the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) to provide all certified records at the earliest so that the investigation can be taken to its logical conclusion.
