A blast at an orchard in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung, Balochistan, has killed six people and injured three others.

According to DSP Rafiq Hamza, the explosion occurred at an orchard in Khad Kocha, killing six people and injuring three others. The bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted to Mastung Hospital.

Hospital authorities said the condition of the injured being treated at Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Hospital is critical.

Police said the area has been cordoned off and evidence is being collected. A bomb disposal squad has also been called in to determine the nature and cause of the explosion.

Meanwhile, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir said that the destiny of Balochistan lies in the hands of its people and that attempts to destabilise the province will be thwarted through a strong and decisive response by the state. 

During a meeting with prominent figures and political leaders from Balochistan, he said the present and future of Balochistan and Pakistan are one, while stressing the need to counter hostile propaganda and ensure peace and stability in the province.
