Seven militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation by security forces in Hangu, while Captain Hamza Akram was martyred while confronting the militants during the operation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was conducted in Hangu on August 7 following information about the presence of militants. During the operation, security forces targeted the militants’ hideout.

The ISPR said seven militants were killed in the operation, while weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession. The killed militants were involved in the killing of several civilians.

According to the ISPR, Captain Hamza Akram was leading his troops in pursuit of the militants when he was martyred during the ensuing exchange of fire.

The ISPR said that counter-terrorism operations will continue with full force to eliminate terrorism. The sacrifices of security forces personnel further strengthen the nation’s resolve to protect its people and ensure national security.
