The word "mother" maybe just a combination of six letters, but within it lies the vastness of the entire universe. The sweetness and depth encapsulated in the term "Mother" are unparalleled in any other word known to mankind. Imagine the joy it brings to the woman who hears this word spoken with love and reverence. While everything in the universe has a measure, like sunlight, science has yet to quantify a mother's love for her children, and perhaps it never will.

Every year, International Mother's Day is celebrated during the second week of May worldwide, including Pakistan. Although Mother's Day does not have a fixed day or date, many countries observe it in various months, such as January, February, April, and May, with May being the most common. Typically, it falls on the second Sunday of May.

The blessings bestowed upon us by our parents, especially our mothers, are immeasurable. Even if we were to spend our entire lives expressing gratitude, we could never repay them fully. Thus, dedicating just one day to celebrate Mother's Day seems insufficient. From the moment of a child's birth until the mother's last breath, her sacrifices and love endure, transcending the boundaries of time.

When a newborn enters the world, it may not recognize its mother but instinctively recognizes her scent. Similarly, a mother's love enriches the food she prepares, adding warmth and flavor. The bond between parents and children is the purest form of love, devoid of ulterior motives. A mother's tireless devotion knows no bounds; she sacrifices her sleep, her comfort, and her preferences for the sake of her children, always wearing a smile and fulfilling their desires.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) held mothers in the highest regard. He taught his companions that disobeying one's parents is among the gravest of sins, second only to associating partners with Allah. Furthermore, he encouraged believers to visit the graves of their parents on Fridays, as doing so earns forgiveness for minor sins accumulated throughout the week. Those seeking an increase in sustenance are advised to treat their parents with kindness and respect.

In essence, International Mother's Day serves as a reminder to honor and appreciate the eternal love and sacrifices of mothers around the world, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries.
