A sudden flood situation has emerged in Paharpur tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan after a breach in the Chashma Right Bank Canal. Several villages have been inundated, and floodwater has entered homes.

Hundreds of acres of standing crops have been destroyed, while several houses have also been damaged.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, the evacuation of residents from the affected areas to safer locations has begun.

 The district administration, police, rescue teams and local residents are taking part in relief operations.

The Deputy Commissioner said the water flow from Chashma Barrage has been reduced, while all possible measures are being taken to protect the lives and property of citizens.

Meanwhile, the district administration has declared an emergency in Paharpur tehsil.
