Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has approved the awarding of the Sitara-e-Shujaat to civilian Liaqat for preventing a suicide attack in Kohat and saving multiple lives.

According to sources, a suspected militant—described as a foreign-linked terrorist—was moving through fields near Kohat a few days ago when Liaqat, a resident of Mohkor village in Jand tehsil of Attock district, confronted him and attempted to verify his identity.

Upon being questioned, the suspected suicide bomber panicked and detonated himself, resulting in a major tragedy being averted.
