Peshawar: A case has been registered against local government chairmen and councilors who staged a protest outside the provincial assembly yesterday.
According to police, the investigation will be completed soon, and legal action will be taken against the demonstrators.
The police stated that the protest caused the closure of Khyber Road for five hours, resulting in significant inconvenience to the public. Following the incident, an FIR was filed, and suspects were identified using CCTV footage, leading to the initiation of arrests.

The protest by local representatives on Wednesday was against the lack of authority and funds. Demonstrators blocked Khyber Road to traffic and attempted to enter the Red Zone, leading to a scuffle with the police. The police responded with baton charges and tear gas, arresting two individuals during the confrontation.
