Whether we’re happy or sad, regardless of how we live our lives, time inevitably moves forward. Aging is a natural process that will continue to happen, but certain signs of aging can appear earlier than expected.

For many people, the first signs of aging start appearing around age 35. Over time, the top layer of the skin becomes thinner and contains fewer structural proteins. Dry or itchy skin can accelerate the aging process, making people look older sooner. The first visible signs often appear on the face and hands, giving them an aged look.

While aging has no specific age limit, signs usually start showing between 35 and 40. However, with proper care, these signs can be delayed until between 40 and 45 years. Common early signs of aging, which generally begin to show after the age of 35, include weakened vision, memory loss, fatigue, back pain, and wrinkles.

By the time people reach 40, their skin becomes more susceptible to damage and tears. However, aging is not just a matter of years passing by. Sometimes, life situations can significantly change a person's life and cause them to age faster. For instance, losing a loved one can deeply affect a person’s health and accelerate aging. Experts believe that such emotional trauma can have more severe effects when experienced in childhood or early adulthood. As we grow older, the death of a loved one can quickly manifest in noticeable health issues.

Individuals who experience the loss of two or more loved ones during adolescence are at greater risk of premature aging, as they may become more susceptible to various health issues such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and dementia. Aging is a process that cannot be halted, and the signs of growing older naturally become more evident with each passing year.

Yet, some habits can speed up the aging process. Many of these habits are part of our daily routines, and we often don’t realize their impact. For instance, spending too much time in front of screens can cause eye strain and back pain. According to a study, young people who spend excessive time in front of screens are more likely to develop neurological disorders in middle age.

Aging accelerates when a person is stressed, does not eat or drink properly, and internalizes every sorrow. The sudden loss of relatives, like parents, can make life feel like a burden. Research has shown a link between lack of sleep and poor skin health. If people do not sleep properly or get less sleep, they may show signs of premature aging. A study that analyzed the lifestyles of millions of people found that spending too much time sitting increases the risk of early death by four times.

If a person starts feeling old at 35, thinking they are "too old" or their "life is over," they age faster. In contrast, 50-year-olds who consider themselves young tend to age more slowly. So, think of yourself as young, and your journey toward aging will slow down too!
