A complete shutter-down strike is underway across District Khyber against the federal government's decision to impose taxes in the former FATA and PATA regions. Major markets across the district, including Landi Kotal, Jamrud, Bara, Tirah and Sakhi Pul, remain completely closed as part of the protest.

Rejecting the federal government's decision, traders have demanded the immediate withdrawal of all taxes imposed in the former FATA and PATA.

Protesting traders said District Khyber is already facing high unemployment, limited business opportunities and severe economic challenges. They argued that the introduction of new taxes would place an additional financial burden on local residents and the business community.

They maintained that, given the current economic conditions, it is not possible for traders to bear any new tax burden and urged the federal government to reconsider its decision and withdraw the taxes.

The traders also warned that if their demands are not met, they will expand their protest, holding the relevant authorities responsible for any consequences.
