A driver, Naveed ur Rehman, from Shingarai in Timergara, Lower Dir, was laid to rest in his native village after losing his life while trying to rescue a 15-year-old girl from drowning in the Panjkora River. The search for the missing girl is still underway.

According to Rescue 1122 Lower Dir, the incident occurred three days ago near Zulam Bridge in Timergara, where a 15-year-old girl fell into the Panjkora River. Her mother immediately jumped into the river in an attempt to save her but was also caught in the strong current.

Naveed ur Rehman, who was present at the scene, displayed remarkable courage by jumping into the river. In his first attempt, he successfully rescued the girl's mother. However, when he entered the river a second time to save the girl, he was swept away by the powerful current.

Rescue 1122 said its teams carried out a continuous three-day search operation before recovering Naveed ur Rehman's body from the Garshmozai Bosaq area. After completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to his family and later buried in his ancestral village.

Rescue officials said the search operation for the 15-year-old girl is still ongoing.
