According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), six people have been killed and six others injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 29 due to heavy rains, flash floods, and incidents of collapsing roofs and walls.

The PDMA said the deceased include two women and four children, while the injured also comprise two women and four children.

PDMA spokesperson said that the heavy rains and flash floods damaged 65 houses, of which 41 sustained partial damage while 24 were completely destroyed.

The incidents were reported from Abbottabad, Swat, Buner, Khyber, Lower Chitral, Lower Dir, Mansehra, Mardan, Peshawar, Shangla, Swabi, Upper Dir, and Upper Kohistan.

The PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administrations, and other relevant departments are engaged in relief operations in the affected areas. The Director General PDMA has directed district authorities to accelerate relief efforts and ensure immediate assistance to affected families.

The DG PDMA also urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from vulnerable tourist destinations, and strictly follow weather alerts and official advisories.
