Four people, including a mother and her son, were killed and eight others injured after a house was reportedly hit in the Warasta area of Central Kurram in a suspected drone strike.
According to local residents, the head of the affected household, Sohbat Gul, belonged to Ali Sherzai Isarak in Central Kurram. He and his family had been living in Warasta as internally displaced persons (IDPs) after being displaced by the ongoing military operation in their native area.
Police sources said that a suspected projectile struck the house during the night, killing Sabeela, wife of Sohbat Gul; Umar, son of Sohbat Gul; Seema, daughter of Raees; and 10-year-old Sana, daughter of Akbar.
The injured were identified as Alisha, wife of Fazal Umar; Kamala, wife of Fazal Akbar; Reshma, daughter of Khan Akbar; Salahuddin, son of Fazal Akbar; Shagufta, daughter of Fazal Akbar; Hanzala, son of Fazal Akbar; Muhammad, son of Muhammad Raees; and Sameera, daughter of Sohbat Gul.

The wounded were shifted to hospital for treatment, while three critically injured individuals were referred to Peshawar due to the severity of their condition.
Police said intense clashes between a militant group and law enforcement personnel have been ongoing in the area since the previous day. During these clashes, three people, including a woman, were killed and 40 others injured.
Authorities said investigations into the nature and cause of the incident are underway.
