In a fresh wave of terror in Lakki Marwat district, five people, including four security personnel, were brutally killed in separate incidents claimed by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The first incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Pezu Police Station near Wanda Joggi, where a decapitated body was found by the roadside.

The deceased was identified as Imtiaz, son of Ijaz Ahmed, a resident of Tank. A handwritten note allegedly from TTP was found alongside the body, accusing the victim of poisoning “Mujahideen” and warning of dire consequences for informants.

The second body was discovered in the limits of Dadiwala Police Station and was identified as Basir Khan. Reports suggest he was allegedly affiliated with the TTP and was killed during an encounter with security forces.

In another gruesome incident near Umar Adda on July 4, Taliban militants set up a checkpoint on the Indus Highway and abducted three security personnel from a vehicle. All three were later beheaded.

The slain personnel were identified as Lance Naik Naseem and Lance Naik Muhammad Rashid from Kohat, and Sepoy Muhammad Sher from Upper Kurram.

In a statement released by the group, the banned TTP claimed responsibility for all the attacks, asserting they were in retaliation for the alleged killing and desecration of their seven fighters in North Waziristan.

The statement warned that the disrespect of Mujahideen’s bodies would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
