The Petroleum Association in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched an indefinite strike in support of its demands, resulting in the complete or partial closure of numerous petrol pumps across the province. The shutdown has caused difficulties for citizens trying to obtain fuel.

Petroleum Association KP General Secretary Behzad ur Rehman said the protest and closure of petrol pumps will continue until their demands are accepted.

He urged the federal government to abolish the current mechanism of setting petroleum product prices on a daily basis and immediately increase the profit margin for petrol pump owners.

According to Behzad ur Rehman, petrol pump owners' margins have not been increased for the past eight years, making it increasingly difficult to sustain their businesses.

He also called on the government to hold immediate negotiations and resolve the issues faced by petrol pump owners.

The closure of petrol pumps has led to fuel shortages and inconvenience for motorists in several cities across the province.
