According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), heavy rains and flash floods since July 29 have claimed nine lives and injured seven people. The rains also damaged 103 houses, of which 39 were completely destroyed while 64 sustained partial damage.

PDMA said the deceased include two men, three women, and four children, while the injured comprise one man, two women, and four children. Most of the casualties occurred due to the collapse of roofs and walls of houses.

According to the PDMA spokesperson, the affected districts include Abbottabad, Swat, Buner, Khyber, Lower Chitral, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Mansehra, Mardan, Peshawar, Shangla, Swabi, and Upper Kohistan.

The PDMA said Rescue 1122, district administrations, and other relevant agencies are engaged in relief operations. The Director General of PDMA has directed district administrations to further accelerate relief efforts and ensure immediate assistance to the affected families.
