Wana, South Waziristan: An improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeted a police vehicle in Wana, the headquarters of Lower South Waziristan, injuring seven police personnel and two bystanders.
The police vehicle was assigned to escort a polio vaccination team and was attacked near Al-Noor Mosque. All the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The blast caused partial damage to the vehicle, and police have cordoned off the area to begin an investigation.

This incident coincides with the launch of a new anti-polio campaign in the province's 27 districts. The campaign is being conducted in two phases, with the first phase aiming to vaccinate over 5.7 million children, followed by a second phase targeting more than 672,000 children.
In a separate incident, a motorcyclist discarded a suicide vest and fled near Jamil Chowk in Peshawar. According to the Excise Police, officers attempted to stop the motorcycle on Ring Road, prompting the rider to abandon the vest and escape.
A bomb disposal unit was called in and safely defused the vest, which contained 6 to 7 kilograms of explosive material. The police have launched a search operation to apprehend the suspects involved.
