HANGU: Fifteen terrorists were killed and several others injured in a joint retaliatory operation by police and security forces following a militant attack on the Khazina police check post in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed, the operation against the militants is still ongoing.
The IGP said DSP Diyar Khan embraced martyrdom while bravely leading the operation against the attackers. A total of nine police personnel were martyred, while 28 officers, including DSP Mujahid Hussain, were injured in the attack.
Zulfiqar Hameed said the fight against terrorism would continue across every corner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with full determination, professional capability, and unwavering resolve.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Suhail Afridi took notice of the terrorist attack on the police check post and sought a detailed report from the IGP.

The chief minister paid tribute to DSP Diyar Khan and the other martyred police personnel, expressing condolences and solidarity with their bereaved families. He also directed authorities to ensure the immediate provision of the best possible medical treatment to the injured officers.
Muhammad Sohail Afridi said every possible assistance would be extended to the families of the martyrs. He added that the sacrifices made by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police in the fight against terrorism were unforgettable and would never be allowed to go in vain. He reaffirmed that maintaining peace is the government's top priority and that the entire nation stands united against terrorism.
Meanwhile, funeral prayers for 10 martyrs, including DSP Diyar Khan, were offered at the Hangu Police Lines. The bodies of the martyrs were later sent to their native areas for burial.
