Seven police personnel, including DSP Diyar Khan, were martyred while 24 others were injured in a terrorist attack on the Khazana Check Post in Hangu district.

During the attack, the vehicle of Hangu District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Habib was also targeted. However, he remained unharmed.

According to initial reports, DSP Diyar Khan was critically injured during an operation in Khazana Banda and was immediately shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Six other police personnel also embraced martyrdom in the attack.

In retaliation, police forces killed six terrorists. The injured personnel were shifted to the DHQ Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities said an investigation into the attack is underway.
