Under ongoing efforts to boost olive production, the Khyber Agriculture Department recently inspected an 11-acre olive orchard in Village Shah Kas, expressing optimism for an exceptional yield this year.
The visit, led by Agriculture Officer Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani and Field Assistant Naveed Khan, was conducted under the directive of District Agriculture Director Zia-ul-Islam Dawar. The orchard, owned by local farmer Ahmed Gul, was observed to be heavily laden with olive fruit.
Expressing gratitude, Ahmed Gul credited the department’s timely guidance and continuous support for transforming his orchard into a symbol of success.

Announcing a significant development, Director Zia-ul-Islam Dawar revealed that a state-of-the-art olive oil extraction machine will be operational by August 2025 at the Bara Agriculture Training Center. He urged local olive growers to bring their produce to the center to ensure the timely production of pure olive oil.
Officials believe this initiative will not only enhance farmers’ incomes but also mark a new era of agricultural progress in District Khyber.
