Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has unanimously approved a resolution opposing potential military operations in Tirah Valley, Khyber district, and Jani Khel, Bannu.
The joint resolution, presented by PTI's Abdul Ghani and JUI's Adnan Wazir, emphasized that operations are not a solution, citing past instances. It called for sustainable solutions through dialogue and urged authorities to avoid military actions, particularly during winter, as displacement would severely impact local communities.

This development follows a briefing by the 27 Brigade Commander during a jirga in Tirah, where he warned of a grand operation against militants, advising residents to temporarily relocate to safer areas.
He highlighted that drone strikes could be conducted against militants and urged locals to avoid engagement in conflicts while fully cooperating with security forces. Temporary checkpoints would also require public support during the operation.
