The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police department has officially revoked all out-of-turn promotions, in compliance with a Supreme Court ruling.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) KP has issued a formal notification to annul all such promotions deemed illegal.
According to the order, promotions granted out of turn—including honorary and cadet-based advancements—have been declared unlawful under the Supreme Court's decision issued last year. These promotions are to be cancelled with immediate effect.

The directive further states that bravery-based promotions will also be withdrawn, as they fall under the category of out-of-turn promotions. However, officers transferred from other provinces to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will retain their promotional status as legal.
Officers who changed their cadre to secure promotions will be reverted to their original departments, and their seniority will be recalibrated to align with their original batch mates.
The order also affects female officers who received out-of-turn promotions or special privileges, which will now be revoked. All concerned departments have been instructed to complete the necessary documentation and implementation process within the next two weeks.
