Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has provided modern vehicles, bulletproof APCs, lifters and motorcycles to various districts to enhance its operational capacity.

According to the Central Police Office, Dragon APCs have been provided to the police in Tank, Hangu and Swat, while other APCs have been supplied to the police in Upper Dir and Mansehra. Modern vehicles have also been provided to the Kohat and Torghar police.

Hiace vans have been provided to Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad and the Telecommunications unit. Meanwhile, 33 lifters and 25 motorcycles have been distributed among various districts and units.

According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, the lifters will help improve traffic management and eliminate illegal parking. He said the upgradation of 84 KP Police APCs is underway, with the vehicles being equipped with modern technology. Police mobiles have also been fitted with side armoring.

The IG said the provision of modern vehicles and equipment would improve the police’s operational capacity, adding that the police were being equipped with modern resources to maintain law and order. He said efforts were also underway to ensure the timely provision of quality police services to the public.
