In view of recent terrorist attacks targeting police personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province-wide high security alert has been issued for the police.

The Additional Inspector General (Operations), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has issued a directive to all District Police Officers (DPOs), instructing them to further strengthen security measures across the province.

According to the directive, issued in light of a Special Branch report, security at police stations, checkpoints, police personnel, and other police installations must be enhanced. Police officers have also been directed to exercise extra caution while performing their duties.

The order further instructs all districts to ensure immediate implementation of the prescribed security measures and submit compliance reports by August 6.

Authorities have also directed police across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, to adopt special measures to improve security and counter potential terrorist threats.

The move comes days after a suicide bombing near the main gate of a police station in the Kabal area of Swat district, in which seven police personnel were martyred and 18 others injured, prompting the provincial government to tighten security for police across the province.
