A meeting was held in Peshawar under the chairmanship of One-Man Commission Chairman Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Suddle to review the implementation of the constitutional and legal rights of the minority community, the five percent employment quota, and the two percent student quota in public universities.

Officials informed the meeting that 3,380 government posts have been allocated for minorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Of these, 1,282 eligible candidates have been recruited under the five percent quota, while 2,106 posts remain vacant.

Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Suddle directed the authorities to facilitate the timely recruitment of minority candidates against the vacant posts. He said that if candidates meeting the required qualifications were not available, other options should also be considered to ensure implementation of the minority employment quota.

The meeting also discussed a proposal to establish an academy to improve the skills and capabilities of minority youth. Dr. Shoaib Suddle said such an academy would help prepare minority youth to better access employment opportunities.

The implementation of the two percent minority student quota in public universities was also reviewed. Officials said all public universities had assured full implementation of the two percent quota for minority students in upcoming admissions.

The meeting was also briefed on the Gurdwara Sara Garhi Singh Sabha in Hangu. Officials said security had been provided to the gurdwara, while further necessary measures would be taken after its registration is completed. Dr. Shoaib Suddle directed the relevant authorities to cooperate in completing the registration process.

The meeting also decided to form a committee for the appointment and transfer of minority employees. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Suddle will head the committee. Clear policies and guidelines will also be developed for the appointment and transfer process.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Suddle said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had made significant progress in ensuring the constitutional and legal rights of the minority community. He said the province’s performance in implementing the Supreme Court’s directives regarding minority rights was also commendable.

The participants expressed their commitment to continuing practical measures to protect the rights of the minority community and provide them with necessary facilities. They said protecting the constitutional and legal rights of minorities remained among the government’s priorities.
