A man posing as a fake officer of the National Assembly Secretariat has been arrested.

According to a spokesperson for the National Assembly, the suspect, Abdul Wajid, a resident of Ghotki, falsely claimed to be an employee of the National Assembly Secretariat and a Grade-17 officer.

The spokesperson said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Abdul Wajid during an operation. A fake appointment letter of the National Assembly Secretariat was recovered from him, bearing forged signatures of the Speaker.

According to the spokesperson, the suspect had been using his fake identity to obtain illegal privileges and official protocol. Action was taken on the Speaker's instructions after public complaints and the matter surfaced on social media.

The National Assembly Secretariat's spokesperson clarified that Abdul Wajid has no affiliation with the National Assembly, and there is no record of his appointment.

The spokesperson added that forging documents in the name of the Speaker, the National Assembly, or any government office is a serious offense. The public has also been urged to verify the authenticity of any documents related to the National Assembly Secretariat.
