A Sikh caretaker couple was shot dead by unidentified assailants inside a gurdwara located in Babu Mohalla, Khwaja Ganj Bazaar area of Mardan, according to a police press release.

Police spokesperson said that upon receiving information about the incident, law enforcement personnel immediately reached the scene and launched an investigation.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan, Masood Ahmed, along with SSP Investigation Maria Mustafa, ASP City, SHO Hoti, and other senior police officials visited the crime scene, collected evidence, and reviewed the situation.

Police said that investigations are being carried out from multiple angles, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible for the killings.

Later, DPO Mardan also visited the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital and issued necessary instructions to the relevant officials.

Authorities have assured that all available resources are being utilized to bring the perpetrators to justice.
