On the appeal of the Sarafa (gold traders) Association in Sarai Naurang, Lakki Marwat, the entire gold market remained closed in protest against the controversial tax laws imposed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The trader community strongly opposed the tax policies, calling them anti-business.
Officials of the Sarafa Association said that the recent FBR regulations and tax measures have created serious difficulties, particularly for small traders and the gold business community. They demanded the introduction of business-friendly policies instead of imposing additional financial burdens on traders, arguing that such measures are necessary to promote commercial activities and strengthen the economy.
During the protest, participants chanted slogans such as "Reject FBR's Black Law" and "No to Anti-Trader Taxes." Speakers warned that if the government failed to address traders' concerns, the scope of the protest would be expanded.

Leaders of the Sarafa Association stated that the business community serves as the backbone of the country's economy and urged the government to resolve traders' issues on a priority basis and review the controversial tax laws.
Due to the complete market shutdown, business activities remained suspended, while traders demonstrated strong unity in support of their demands.
It is worth noting that the gold market in Peshawar also remained completely closed a day earlier in protest against the same tax measures.
