MARDAN: Police have claimed to have solved the mystery surrounding the triple murder case that shocked residents of the upscale Sheikh Maltoon area of Mardan, arresting four suspects and recovering the weapons used in the crime, a stolen vehicle, and other evidence.
Speaking at a press conference, District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan, Masood Ahmad, said that on June 4, unidentified assailants entered a house in Sheikh Maltoon Town and killed three people, including a husband and wife, while abducting two young girls.
Following the incident, a special investigation team was formed under the supervision of SP Investigation Nisar Ahmad Khan. The team also included SP City Maria Mustafa, DSPs, and other investigation officers.

According to the DPO, police utilized modern scientific methods and technical evidence to trace the case within a short period and arrested four suspects identified as Imad, Jawad, Atif, and Sinan. Raids are underway to apprehend a fifth suspect, Ashraf, who remains at large.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspects were acquainted with the victims and had regular access to their home. On the day of the incident, they allegedly entered the house as part of a premeditated plan, snatched mobile phones and a vehicle, and then shot dead Jalal, his wife, and his brother-in-law.
The suspects also took the victims’ two young daughters, Iman and Dua, with them after the crime. Police later recovered the children safely near Charsadda Chowk.
Police have also recovered the stolen car and two pistols believed to have been used in the killings.
DPO Masood Ahmad said further investigation is underway and expressed confidence that the absconding suspect would soon be arrested.
