PESHAWAR: A multi-million rupee corruption scandal has been exposed in the procurement of surgical gloves for DHQ Hospital Timergara, Lower Dir, prompting a notice in the provincial assembly.
According to a call-attention notice submitted by MPA Ubaid-ur-Rehman, Rs 650 million was allocated for purchasing 65,000 boxes of gloves during the caretaker government's tenure.

However, the hospital received only 2,500 boxes, raising serious concerns about financial mismanagement.
The notice further revealed that while the market price of a box of gloves is around Rs 1,000, the hospital was charged Rs 2,200 per box. Additionally, ordinary gloves were supplied under the guise of surgical gloves at inflated prices, causing significant financial loss to the government.
